Following intensive preparations, the pilot course “Artistic Interventions in Cultural Education” is to start off with its first module on the weekend from the 24.09.21-26.09.21, at the Federal Academy for Cultural Education in Wolfenbüttel.
In addition to intensive professional exchange, artistic approaches are discussed and tried out to also make the potentials of art in education experienceable.
It was against this background that the Department of Cultural Policy at the University of Hildesheim started off with the diversified and elaborate accompanying research. In preparatory and follow-up interviews in the context of the course, in accompanying questionnaires and in long-term research, various questions are explored. What are the key motives and expectations among artists seeking to take such further training? How can quality criteria be defined for cultural education activities? To what extent is a link between artistic objectives and the interests of cultural education projects feasible? What are the key challenges for artists working in education and social fields? What is needed for their work to be successful?
Thus research centres on experiences and conditions for artists to successfully perform artistically effective cultural education work. The results are examined with regard to quality criteria and conditions for success in order to initiate a long-term consolidation of cultural education activities in Germany.
A lot will be happening in September, and we can look forward to seeing what exciting new options are going to emerge for all actors!
